DESCRIPTION:SOCKER – an opera featuring music by the first black opera 
 composer\, Chevalier de Saint-George\n\nConcept\, adaptation and directio
 n: Charlotta Huldt\n\nJoseph Bologne\, Chevalier de Saint-George\, was a 
 virtuoso violinist\, composer\, conductor and fencer\, and an inspiration
  for the book "De tre Musketörerna" – one of the most fascinating figu
 res in 18th-century Paris. He was born on Guadeloupe\, the son of a Frenc
 h plantation owner and an enslaved African woman\, Anne.\n\nIn SOCKER\, S
 aint-George's music meets a new story in which his mother also steps out 
 of the shadows of history.\n\nThe performance moves between Guadeloupe an
 d France\, between colonialism and the Enlightenment\, love and survival 
 – and tells the stories of the people and lives behind Europe's splendi
 d salons and musical life.\n\nThe music is by Joseph Bologne\, Chevalier 
 de Saint-George\, adapted and brought together as a stage performance by 
 Charlotta Huldt\, who is also responsible for the concept and direction.\
 n\nWith actress Maria Llerena\, opera singers and musicians.\n\nSOCKER ha
 d its world premiere in Havana at Internationella Mozartfestivalen in 202
 4. In the summer of 2026\, this version was performed at Elghammar Slott
