SUMMARY:Johan Borgh
LOCATION:ABF-huset\, Sveavägen 41\, Sveavägen 41\, 11183 Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:Johan Borgh is the guitarist who has made a name for himself
online with his slide playing. He was the first recipient of the Schaffer
-stipendiet in 2024\, and has also won Lee Ritenour’s guitar competitio
n Six String Theory. He has also joined blues legend Gary Clark Jr as a g
uest at a sold-out Berns. In 2025\, he made his solo debut with the album
Island Blues\, which attracted coverage from both Guitar World and Vinta
ge Guitar Magazine\, among others\, and received a positive review in Lir
 a. The music has been described as a bubbling brew of raw\, rattling blue
s\, Afro-Cuban rhythms and New Orleans swing. At its heart is Borgh’s a
ssured and impressive guitar playing – virtuosic\, with the slide takin
g centre stage\, yet leaving room for the compositions and the other musi
cians to shine.\n\nHis solo band features some of the country’s finest
musicians\, with a strong focus on the joy of playing and spontaneity tha
t appeals equally to fellow musicians and those who simply come to listen
to live music. When this group takes to the stage\, they promise a dynam
ic live show where anything can happen!\n\nThe band consists of:\n\nNoa S
vensson on drums (Benjamin Ingrosso\, Viktor Leksell and others)\n\nAxel
Fagerberg on percussion (Bo Kaspers\, Benjamin Ingrosso\, Dave Weckl and
others)\n\nBalthazar Samuelsson on bass (Sabina Ddumba\, Cornelia Jakobs
and others)\n\nNiklas Medin on piano (Nils Landgren\, Roffe Wikström and
others)\n\nAxel Berntzon on horns (The Real Group and others)
