DESCRIPTION:Ein deutsches Requiem\, op. 45\, was composed between 1865 an
 d 1868. It is scored for soprano and baritone soloists\, large choir and 
 orchestra.\n\nRather than using the Latin texts of the Catholic Mass for 
 the Dead\, Brahms selected biblical texts in German from the Luther Bible
  himself. The result is a work that does not follow the traditional requi
 em structure\, but instead forms a meditation on consolation and compassi
 on.\n\nBrahms himself said that he could just as well have called it “E
