DESCRIPTION:Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in D minor\, Op. 48 was composed b
 etween 1887 and 1890 and is one of his best-loved works. Written for sopr
 ano and baritone soloists\, mixed choir\, orchestra and organ\, it consis
 ts of seven movements in its final form. The work is known for its gentle
 \, meditative and consoling character\, which sets it apart from more dra
 matic requiems such as those by Mozart or Verdi.\n\nFauré himself descri
 bed the work as “a lullaby of death”\, focusing on eternal rest and p
 eace rather than fear of Judgement Day.\n\nThis concert features a versio
