SUMMARY:David Binney Action Trio
LOCATION:Debaser Strand\, Hornstulls strand 4\, 11739 Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:The distinguished alto saxophonist and jazz musician David Bi
nney gives his first-ever performance in Sweden – alongside drummer Lou
is Cole and bassist Pera Krstajic.\n\nDavid Binney Action Trio is a high-
energy jazz ensemble led by alto saxophonist David Binney – one of cont
emporary jazz’s most prolific and distinctive voices\, with over 30 alb
ums under his own name and appearances on more than 400 recordings. Despi
te his long and influential career\, David Binney has never previously pe
rformed in Sweden.\n\nBinney\, singled out by JazzTimes as a creator of
“an alternative jazz scene”\, brings together Grammy-winning drummer
and bandleader Louis Cole and bassist Pera Krstajic for this evening: thr
ee distinctive voices who together create a sound that is raw\, precise a
nd deeply musical.\n\nLouis Cole is already a familiar name to Stockholm
audiences\, having enjoyed great success both with his own futuristic ban
d and with the acclaimed duo KNOWER. In Action Trio\, his explosive and v
irtuosic drumming meets Binney’s uncompromising saxophone and Krstajic
’s powerful bass playing. This makes David Binney Action Trio one of th
e most exciting and intense live experiences on today’s modern jazz fus
ion scene.\n\nAges 18 and over (13 and over when accompanied by a parent
 or guardian)
