SUMMARY:Stadsvandring: Siden på söder
LOCATION:Mosebacke Torg\, Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a walk through the streets around Götgatsbacken
and travel back in time to Stockholm during industrialisation!\n\nWe begi
n at Mosebacke torg in 1833\, where Knut August Almgren opened a small si
lk weaving mill in an old carriage shed. He had several state-of-the-art
looms to help him\, which he had smuggled out of France himself. As Knut
August’s business expands and moves\, the walk follows closely in his f
ootsteps.\n\nThe walking tour passes factory buildings\, homes and a leaf
y courtyard that together tell the story of a changing Stockholm during i
ndustrialisation. We trace the rise of K. A. Almgren sidenväveri during
the 19th century and its rapid decline in the following century.\n\nThe w
alk starts at Mosebacke torg and ends at K. A. Almgren sidenväveri & mus
eum\, which you are welcome to visit\; admission is included in the ticke
 t. The walk is just over 800 metres long. The route includes a downhill s
 lope.\n\nImage 1. Mosebacke torg\, sometime between 1885 and 1913. In the
