SUMMARY:Pianoafton med Juliette Journaux
LOCATION:Stiftelsen Musikkulturens Främjande\, Riddargatan 35-37\, 11457
  Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:On 21 October\, we welcome French pianist Juliette Journaux\,
who has been named a Rising Star by the BBC and One to Watch by Gramopho
ne. She leads a kind of musical double life\, combining the spotlight of
a solo career with work behind the scenes in opera as a répétiteur and
vocal coach.\n\nJournaux trained at the Paris Conservatoire and has worke
d with some of today’s leading singers and lieder specialists\, includi
ng Anne Sofie von Otter and Christophe Prégardien. She has also establis
hed herself as a distinguished soloist on international stages and at fes
tivals\, and has released two solo albums on Alpha Classics.\n\nThe meeti
ng of music and song is central to her artistry. Through her own piano tr
anscriptions of orchestral music and art songs\, she brings out harmonic
details and subtexts in the compositions. The piano takes on characters\,
sings and tells stories when Journaux is at the keyboard.\n\nThe evening
 ’s programme includes pieces by Schubert\, Brahms\, Debussy\, Schönber
 g and Korngold\, with several of Journaux’s own transcriptions.\n\nDon
’t miss the chance to hear one of Europe’s most exciting young pianis
ts when she visits us!\n\nJoin us on 21 October.
