SUMMARY:De Gaulle: Frihetens röst
LOCATION:Bio Skandia\, Drottninggatan 82\, 111 36 Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:DE GAULLE: FRIHETENS RÖST is the epic continuation of the st
ory of Charles de Gaulle and the struggle for a free France.\n\nAfter ref
using to accept defeat and building up the resistance from exile\, de Gau
lle now faces the next decisive battle: to unite the French resistance\,
assert France’s independence from the Allies and lead the country towar
ds liberation. DE GAULLE: FRIHETENS RÖST is the second and final instalm
ent of Antonin Baudry’s historical epic about Charles de Gaulle and ope
ns in cinemas on 30 October.\n\nThe year is 1943. France is occupied and
the war rages on. Charles de Gaulle has gone from being a relatively unkn
own general in exile to the leader of Free France\, but the struggle for
the country’s future is far from over. The Allies are trying to get him
to accept an agreement with General Henri Giraud\, while the resistance
movement inside France must unite and French forces continue their fight
against Nazi Germany.\n\nWith Jean Moulin\, General Leclerc and resistanc
e fighters across the country at his side\, de Gaulle refuses to compromi
se on France’s future. Amid political power struggles\, military battle
s and an occupied people waiting for liberation\, the struggle moves ever
closer to its decisive moment. The goal is no longer merely to keep the
resistance alive\, but to liberate France.\n\nDirected by: Antonin Baudry
