DESCRIPTION:Join a journey through the history of opera in a colourful\, 
 interactive performance where children can discover the magical world of 
 opera – from the 6th century to the present day!\n\nA journey through t
 ime and music\n\nWe begin with the Gregorian monks and nuns of the 6th ce
 ntury\, where classical music was born. Then we travel through the centur
 ies and across different countries to show how opera has changed througho
 ut history.\n\nAlong the way\, we meet people from different eras. Their 
 lives were different\, but their feelings and thoughts are much like our 
 own. Through music and stories\, children get to experience their joys an
 d challenges.\n\nChildren become part of the performance\n\nSeveral times
  during the performance\, the actors address the audience directly. Child
 ren can sing along\, try out their voices and help create a small opera c
 hoir with Adam and Himani.\n\nOpera is for everyone\n\nAfter the performa
 nce\, the children will not only have attended their first opera performa
 nce – they will also have discovered how varied and exciting classical 
 music can be. Perhaps they will even have felt a connection with people w
 ho lived long ago.\n\nMany people think opera is inaccessible – that it
  is high culture that is not for everyone. But it need not be that way! O
 pera is music that moves people\, and its themes are just as relevant tod
 ay as they were hundreds of years ago.\n\nAbout us\n\nHimani Grundström
