 er nearly 30 years as a percussionist\, instrument maker and musical all-
 rounder\, Valter Kinbom is now releasing his first album\, centred on voc
 als and guitar.\n\nTrollsländan\, klippan och havet has grown out of a l
 ove of the Cuban song tradition and a desire to make some of its wonderfu
 l songs accessible to a Swedish audience.\n\nWhat began as a project to t
 ranslate and interpret music by\, among others\, Silvio Rodríguez\, Pabl
 o Milanés\, Carlos Varela and Alex Cuba eventually also became a path to
 wards finding his own voice. Working with their lyrics has inspired his o
 wn songwriting\, while vocals and guitar have taken an increasingly centr
 al role.\n\nThe result is a collection of songs in which Swedish interpre
 tations meet original compositions. The influences range from Cuban trova
  and Swedish folk song to a host of other musical worlds\, with lyrics ex
 ploring love\, longing\, relationships and life’s oddities.\n\nFor the 
 release concert at Reimersholme Hotel\, Valter has brought together a lar
 ge ensemble of musicians and friends to take the songs to the stage.\n\nM
