 the ridge. The difference in elevation is still noticeable in the streets
  around Johannes cemetery.\n\nThe people of Stockholm have changed the ge
 ography around the old ridge\, and few areas of the city have changed cha
 racter as dramatically over the past 150 years. From the worst imaginable
  slums to a bourgeois oasis in the late 19th century. The area has a fasc
 inating history\, and many well-known people have connections to it\, not
