SUMMARY:The Magic Numbers
LOCATION:Debaser Strand\, Hornstulls strand 4\, 11739 Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:Four voices\, two pairs of siblings and a band that have neve
r stopped sounding like themselves. Vocal harmonies are second nature to
them\, and their songs have that rare quality of feeling like classics th
e very first time you hear them.\n\nTheir self-titled debut album from 20
05 set the tone straight away. A Mercury Prize nomination\, sold-out show
s and classics such as “Forever Lost” and “Love Me Like You”. Sin
ce then\, they have continued in the same vein: intimate\, warm and assur
ed. Always with songwriting at the heart of it all.\n\nTo date\, The Magi
c Numbers have released five successful albums and are currently working
on new music. Live\, it is easy to understand why they have become a band
people keep coming back to. They are tight without being stiff\, heartfe
lt without being heavy\, and always keep the audience close. They have to
ured the world\, built a loyal following and shared stages with names suc
 h as Neil Young\, Brian Wilson and Radiohead.\n\nOutside the band\, the m
embers have also made their mark in other settings\, from collaborations
with The Chemical Brothers to production work for Billy Bragg\, among oth
ers. But whatever the side project\, it is clear where it all begins: in
the interplay between the four voices and songs that stand the test of ti
 me.
