 nTHIS CONCERT brings together two works that explore the boundaries of li
 fe and human experience in different ways. Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem is 
 one of classical music’s most cherished sacred works\, known for its se
 rene and luminous character. Rather than drama and images of the Last Jud
 gement\, Fauré offers a more restrained and comforting interpretation of
  the requiem tradition. The concert also includes a world premiere: Maria
  Lithell Flyg’s new work De andra for soprano and string quartet\, with
  a text by Malte Persson. The poem explores how death always seems to str
 ike “the others”\, and Lithell’s music captures this duality – th
 e everyday and the existential side by side. The work gives a contemporar
 y voice to questions of loss\, closeness and life continuing. Together\, 
 the works form a programme in which a classical masterpiece meets new mus
 ic\, allowing two perspectives on the same theme to stand alongside one a
