SUMMARY:En kväll om Augusta Lundin
LOCATION:Ekonomiska museet – Kungliga myntkabinettet\, Ekonomiska musee
 t och Historiska museet\, Narvavägen 17\, 114 84 Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:This lecture introduces you to dressmaker and fashion star Au
gusta Lundin\, who established one of Sweden’s most influential dressma
king ateliers\, featuring fashions from Paris.\n\nAround the turn of the
20th century\, the large atelier at Brunkebergstorg 2 in Stockholm is a h
ive of activity. Skirts are sewn\, beads are embroidered onto bodices and
flounces are gathered. There are exclusive silk fabrics from France and
lace from Italy and Belgium. Women from across the Stockholm area flock t
o the shop on the building’s lower floor to admire and marvel at the la
test fashions from Europe. Augusta Lundin is the woman behind it all\, an
d her name is on the lips of every fashion-conscious woman.\n\nAnna Bergm
an Jurell\, curator and artist\, and Lotta Lewenhaupt\, fashion journalis
t and author\, tell the story of the entrepreneur who shaped Swedish fash
ion history.\n\nJoin us for an evening about courage\, fashion and female
entrepreneurship!\n\nThe lecture is part of the programme series Kvinnor
na i sekelskiftets Sverige.\n\nTip! Make the evening extra special with a
warming vegetarian soup and a glass of wine at the museum’s restaurant
\, Rosengården. The special price for the evening is 160 kronor. An alco
 hol-free option costs 120 kronor.
