SUMMARY:DJ Krush
LOCATION:Kollektivet Livet\, Stadsgårdsterminalen\, 116 45 Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:Few artists\, DJs and producers have a career as impressive a
nd influential as that of Japan's legendary DJ Krush. Many regard him as
one of the pioneers of trip-hop and abstract hip-hop – and on 28 Octobe
r he is finally coming to Stockholm.\n\nThe legendary Japanese DJ was dee
ply inspired by the cult film Wild Style in the 1980s\, which kick-starte
d his journey into hip-hop. He began with the groups B-FRESH3 and later K
RUSH POSSE – one of Japan's most groundbreaking hip-hop acts\, with its
unique 1MC/2DJ line-up. When the group disbanded in 1992\, he fully comm
itted to a solo career.\n\nSince then\, DJ Krush has created a musical st
yle entirely his own\, with the art of DJing at its heart. In the mid-199
0s\, he made his international breakthrough with his debut album KRUSH an
d the acclaimed Strictly Turntablized\, released through British label Mo
' Wax. Over the years\, he has collaborated with both underground and wor
ld-famous artists\, cementing his role as a key figure in global trip-hop
and abstract hip-hop.\n\nWith almost 40 years on stage\, he has toured t
he world\, played in more than 60 countries and over 350 cities\, and per
formed at iconic festivals such as Glastonbury\, Sónar and Coachella. Hi
s latest album Saisei (2024) received an enthusiastic response from fans
around the world and shows that he is still as relevant as ever.\n\nAs fa
r as we know\, DJ Krush has never played in Stockholm – or at least not
for a very long time. That makes finally welcoming this icon here feel a
 ll the mo…
