SUMMARY:ALLHELGONASERIEN: Lamine Cissokho & Christer Lyssarides
LOCATION:Allhelgonakyrkan\, Helgalunden 9\, 118 58 Stockholm
DESCRIPTION:Lamine Cissokho & Christer Lyssarides A meeting of vibrant st
rings.\n\nLamine Cissokho is a musician\, arranger and composer\, and one
of the leading names in contemporary kora.\n\nThe kora is a West African
string instrument traditionally having 21 strings.\n\nAlthough it resemb
les a guitar\, it is more like a harp\, with strings that are never short
ened to produce higher notes.\n\nAs the heir to a lineage of Mandinka gri
ots from Casamance in Senegal\, Lamine was trained from childhood by his
father\, Lalo Keba Dramé\, a prominent player of the instrument.\n\nThis
traditional foundation has been the anchor for an international artistic
career.\n\nHaving been based in Sweden for two decades\, Lamine has deve
loped a personal and original aesthetic in which he combines Mandinka rep
ertoire\, improvisation and elements of jazz and Nordic folk music.\n\nHi
s playing is distinguished by great technical finesse\, both melodically
and rhythmically.\n\nLamine’s virtuosity\, technique and unique playing
style have enabled him to open the kora to the world.\n\nHe has establis
hed himself as one of the instrument’s foremost voices and continues to
forge his artistic path through concerts\, compositions and teaching\, c
reating spaces for transmission\, encounters and innovation.\n\nChrister
Lyssarides is a guitarist with a distinctive tone who has played with Eri
 c Bibb\, Yonder\, OK Star Orchestra and many others.\n\nIn recent years\,
his desire to express himself in his own words\, and above all to sing\,
  has grown stronger.\n\nIn…
