Each thorn is a small barrier that organizes the space around the stem, establishing a minimum safety distance between the vegetal body and whatever attempts to appropriate it. The delicacy of the flower exists only because the rest of the plant has delegated to the thorn the task of saying no. The thorn does not only protect the rose from the world; it also protects the gesture of the one who touches it, correcting the way the world reads it. It imposes a slowed syntax of contact. The wound it inflicts is a punctuation mark on the body of the one who handles it...”

QUIXOTE_A ROSE IS NOT A ROSE, av Industria Indipendente med Annamaria Ajmone, presenteras inom festivalen September Sessions — En festival för samtidskonst i Stockholm 10–13.9 2026 September Sessions är en fyra dagar lång konstfestival i Stockholm, initierad 2023 av Index – The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation och Mint. Festivalen September Sessions lyfter fram mångfalden inom Stockholms konstscen och fungerar också också som en plattform för oberoende curatorer. Varje upplaga innehåller ett särskilt curerat program av en inbjuden curator som tillfälligt aktiverar staden genom projekt presenterade på unika platser. I år är det curatorn Joel Valabrega som är baserad i Porto och Milano.

QUIXOTE_A ROSE IS NOT A ROSE, by Industria Indipendente with Annamara Ajmone, is presented within the festival September Sessions — A Contemporary Art Festival in Stockholm 10–13.9 2026 September Sessions is a four-day art festival in Stockholm, initiated in 2023 by Index – The Swedish Contemporary Art Foundation and Mint. While celebrating the diversity of Stockholm’s art scene, September Sessions also serves as a platform for independent curators. Each edition features a specially curated program by an invited curator, temporarily activating the city through projects presented at unique locations. For the 2026 edition, a series of exhibitions and events will be presented by Accelerator, Antics, Beau Travail, Bonniers Konsthall, Filmform, Fylkingen, IASPIS, Index, Konsthall C, Konträr, Liljevalchs, MDT, Mint, and Tensta Konsthall, alongside a specially curated program by Joel Valabrega.
