Workshop: Handgripligt
Lappa & laga med Matsson Marnell In this workshop, you can try different techniques and learn to mend and reinforce textiles with patches, embroidery and visible mending. A repair can both extend a garment’s life and become a form of creative expression.
Taking care of what we have – such as knowing how to mend and care for our clothes – is an essential part of emergency preparedness and has always been an important part of everyday life. Historically, resources have often been limited, not just during crises and wars. Today, too, mending is a practical skill that can contribute to both sustainability and greater preparedness.
Together, we explore how mending can be both a practical skill and a form of creative expression, and how crafts and practical skills can strengthen the resilience of both individuals and society. The workshop is suitable for beginners and those with previous experience alike. No prior knowledge is needed.
The workshop is led by Magda Marnell from the design studio Matsson Marnell. The studio works at the intersection of art, design and craft, with a focus on reuse, natural materials and circular working practices.
Materials, refreshments and admission to the museum are included in the ticket. Places are limited.
