TORKA ALDRIG TÅRAR UTAN HANDSKAR -- A BRAND-NEW MUSICAL Jonas Gardell’s novel and TV series Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar took Sweden by storm in autumn 2012.

An entire nation fell in love with Rasmus and Benjamin and their friends, led by the legendary queen Paul.

Now, for the first time in Sweden, a stage adaptation is being presented as a brand-new musical by Fredrik Kempe and Jonas Gardell!

It premieres at Göta Lejon in Stockholm on 24 September 2026.

It is directed by Carl Johan Karlson, who created the cult production Arv at Dramaten.

Starring are Ola Salo as Paul, with Valdemar Wahlbeck and Martin Stokke Mathiesen as Rasmus and Benjamin.

With an orchestra conducted by Karl-Johan Ankarblom and a large ensemble, not to mention an utterly lavish set design by Magdalena Åberg, this will be Stockholm’s major theatre event of 2026!

Jonas Gardell and Fredrik Kempe previously wrote the musical Livet är en schlager, a huge success seen by 200,000 people, and Fredrik Kempe has since enjoyed great success with the musicals Såsom i Himmelen and Änglagård.

Now they are reunited for a musical they have been working on together since 2019.

Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar was voted one of Sweden’s three most important cultural events in 150 years by DN’s readers!

It earned Jonas Gardell the title of Swede of the Year, the TV series has been named "Best Swedish TV Series of All Time", and the books have sold hundreds of thousands of copies.

It is recommended that children see the performance accompanied by an adult.

The performance contains sexually explicit scenes and depictions of suicide.

Accompanying adults should bear this in mind when booking tickets.
