Mr. Melvin - gästas av LLoyd Kaufman

LLOYD KAUFMAN TALKS ABOUT TROMA STUDIO, THE CREATION OF MR MELVIN AND THE FILMING OF TOXIC AVENGER II AND III, NOW RESURRECTED AS A SINGLE FILM, AS IT WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE

Tromaville’s idyll is shattered when Apocalypse Inc. moves in. The company poisons the town’s only hero, Toxic Avenger, and turns him against his own people. If Toxie can confront the monster he has become, he may still be able to save both the town and his soul.

When Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz set out to make the sequel to The Toxic Avenger (1984), they shot so much footage that it was split down the middle into Part II and Part III. Decades later, they have reconstructed their original vision: Mr. Melvin, 127 minutes of slime, satire and mutant comedy, just as intended. Featuring a new voice performance by Ron Fazio as Toxie. The film has been screened at Popcorn Frights, Museum of the Moving Image and Coolidge After Midnite. This is not a restoration – it is a resurrection. A piece of Troma-toxic history, finally taking the form it was meant to have.
