Ikatan Darah

BADASS GIRL WHO REFUSES TO GIVE UP

Mega, a former pencak silat star, has left the ring behind after an injury and works tirelessly as a waitress to support her family. Her brother has run up huge gambling debts and is in the clutches of loan sharks. A moment of panic leads to a dead body, stolen money and an army of gangsters who will not give up until their entire extended family has been wiped out. To save her family, Mega must take on a whole network of criminals in increasingly violent close combat, rekindling her skills in the martial art she thought she had left behind.

Ikatan Darah is a brutal, technically dazzling action extravaganza in the spirit of The Raid, with long takes, merciless fights and a female hero who puts both her body and her family on the line. Director Sidharta Tata, better known for his horror films, hits hard here with his first pure action film. Packed with well-choreographed, dirty and utterly wild fight scenes, this is Indonesian action at its finest.
