A wild fairy-tale journey with two older women who take their lives into their own hands. Selma is looking for her late husband. Elsa longs for her new boyfriend. Despite their differences, they form an unexpected alliance, and one day they escape from their care home.

Their escape marks the beginning of an adventure neither could have imagined. A landscape where fairy tales come to life, where memories become maps and where imagination takes over when reality is not enough.

Tanter på rymmen is a warm, humorous and imaginative production in which classic fairy tales by H. C. Andersen, Elsa Beskow and Selma Lagerlöf are woven into the story with playful precision. Here we meet two heroines who refuse to let life stand still, who seek new directions and who, despite age, grief and longing, refuse to give up the dream of something more.

The creators and performers are Mette Marqvardsen and Debbie Z Rennie, well known from Riksteatern Crea’s previous successes. Directed by Lars Otterstedt and Mindy Drapsa, they portray two older women who, with determination and humour, break free from everyday routines and venture into the unknown.

The performance is in Swedish Sign Language, with interpretation into spoken Swedish. For both children and adults aged 6 and over.
