Arkipelag

Charged drama meets dark humour as Alex Schulman makes his directorial debut with Arkipelag, in which Gustaf Skarsgård, Fares Fares and Linus Wahlgren play three fathers who accompany their daughters on a school trip from hell.

Stranded with an unruly secondary school class on an idyllic island in the archipelago, they are reminded of their own teenage traumas. Just like the teenagers, they too are soon forced to realise how difficult it is to draw the line between play and a dangerous power struggle, and to distinguish victims from perpetrators. Arkipelag is Sweden’s Oscar submission this year.
