DE GAULLE: MOTSTÅNDETS PRIS is the epic true story that plunges audiences into the decisive hours of the Second World War through the eyes of General Charles de Gaulle and the men and women who refused to give up as the French nation fell apart.

A man who, against all odds, created an army in exile for Free France. DE GAULLE: MOTSTÅNDETS PRIS is the first of two films about Charles de Gaulle and opens in cinemas on 14 August. The second part, DE GAULLE: FRIHETENS RÖST, opens in cinemas on 30 October.

June 1940. France collapses and signs the armistice. Amid the chaos, one man refuses to give up. Alone, against all odds, the then-unknown general flees to London to save what remains of freedom. Without an army, without support, without hope. But with an irrational conviction – France, his France, has not laid down its arms. Charles de Gaulle takes the ultimate risk and tries to convince the world that the Battle of France is neither over nor lost. Reality was determined to prove him wrong. Yet, little by little, resistance fighters, rebellious students and determined soldiers rise up in England, France and Africa to join the cause of Free France. Their faith, boldness and thirst for freedom defy what history seemed to have written in advance.
