Bio Skandia, Stockholm
Hope
After two sold-out screenings at Stockholm Korean Film Festival, Hope returns to Bio Skandia. In an isolated village near the demilitarised zone between North and South Korea, forest fires rage as contact with the outside world is cut off.
When mysterious creatures suddenly appear, police chief Bum-seok and police officer Sung-ae try to protect the villagers. Meanwhile, a hunting party heads into the mountains to track the unknown threat, but soon they are no longer the hunters.
Hope is Na Hong-jin’s first feature film since the acclaimed The Wailing from 2016, blending science fiction, monster film and thriller in a large-scale Korean cinematic adventure. With a budget of over 50 billion won, it is one of the most expensive South Korean film productions ever. The film competed for the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2026 and has become a major box-office success in South Korea.
