Skapa din egen japanska spöklykta!

Create your own spooky Japanese lantern! Chōchin'obake roughly means ‘paper lantern ghost’. It is a particular type of Yokai said to come into being when a paper lantern gets old enough. It then comes to life, growing eyes, a mouth and a long tongue.

Sometimes it can even grow arms and legs.

During this workshop, you’ll create your own Chōchin'obake to take home!

From age 7. This is a family activity, and we’d love children and adults to create together. The booking is for one person creating a lantern. Accompanying adults are welcome to help, and they do not need a ticket.
