Axel Sjöberg – Bland kobbar och skär

Axel Sjöberg is considered the first archipelago artist, and now we have made a film about him, Axel Sjöberg - Bland kobbar och skär.

The title is borrowed from the book he published in 1900 through his own publishing house.

He believed in himself, but it was not until 1918 that he made his breakthrough, with a major exhibition at Liljevalchs.

He lived until 1950 and was a predecessor of Roland Svensson, our best-known archipelago artist, about whom we have made several films.

This is followed by Roland Svensson - Skärgårdsmålaren, which brings the programme to a close with an atmospheric experience of the archipelago through four seasons, accompanied by music by Ralph Lundsten.
