Rumi & Julia
A poetic music theatre performance inspired by the Persian mystic and poet Jalal al-Din Rumi. Can a 750-year-old poet say anything about our lives today?
In Rumi & Julia, two people with very different approaches to Rumi’s world meet. Eva Hillered is fascinated by his poetry, mysticism and boundless love. Pianist Anders Wihk meets her with humour, scepticism and common sense.
Through song, music and lively dialogue, a warm and entertaining conversation unfolds, with two different perspectives gradually drawing closer. The performance weaves Rumi’s timeless poetry together with newly written songs in a musical world where the Nordic singer-songwriter tradition meets acoustic folk, Americana and jazz.
Performers: Eva Hillered – vocals and guitar
Anders Wihk – piano
