Pygméteatern, Stockholm
Kulturkrock – Johan Westre och Dag Palm
Time for a new musical meeting between Johan Westre, classical pianist, and Dag Palm, folk singer. We’re back with a brand-new “culture clash” in the autumn gloom.
We’re offering a concert in a relaxed format, focusing on two different musical genres: Johan’s classical music and Dag’s songs. There’ll also be plenty of coffee-drinking and conversation on stage. As usual, we’d love to involve the audience in this philosophical discussion. A warm welcome to our “culture clash” at the cosy Pygméteatern.
Johan and Dag
Johan Westre – Concert pianist with a twinkle in his eye. Classical, jazz, pop, heavy metal, folk songs, musicals − no genre is unfamiliar to Johan. This time, you’ll meet concert pianist Johan, whom we often see performing classical music, both as a soloist, with orchestras, in chamber music settings and as an accompanist. Johan appears on around 40 recordings, including solo albums of Chopin’s waltzes and piano sonatas by Mozart and Agrell.

Dag Palm − Folk singer
Writes and performs genre-crossing folk songs with a gentle swing. Warmth and melancholy with a political edge. Always with a twinkle in his eye. Among other things, about cats, dark basement corridors and the passage of time. Perhaps Dag will also perform something newly written. The Swedish folk-song tradition is always close at hand.
Dag has released the albums Slingriga vägar and Blås på det onda, both of which received excellent reviews. A new album is planned for 2027.
