Saint Etienne

Saint Etienne are one of the UK's most beloved and acclaimed pop groups.

The group was formed in 1990 by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs from Croydon, and had their breakthrough with their debut single, “Only Love Can Break Your Heart”, a cover of Neil Young's song that quickly became a club classic.

Shortly afterwards, singer Sarah Cracknell joined, making her debut with the group on the 1991 single “Nothing Can Stop Us”.

Their debut album, “Foxbase Alpha”, was released the same year and nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.
