Rootvälta are one of the most legendary names in Swedish reggae and have been a fixture on the reggae scene since the late 1980s. Hailing from Borlänge, the band have built a strong reputation over more than three decades, not least thanks to their energetic live performances and authentic roots reggae sound. They have released several acclaimed albums and played at many of Sweden’s biggest festivals.

The band have also toured internationally, with performances in Jamaica and the USA among other places, leaving a clear mark on both their music and their artistic expression. They have released albums in both English and Swedish. Above all, though, Rootvälta are a live band in the truest sense of the word – with a warm, organic sound, heavy roots reggae and a powerful presence that engages the audience from the first note to the last. A band that continues to unite generations of reggae lovers across the country.
