Ett bloss för Lena Nyman
In the production “Ett bloss för Lena Nyman”, actor Anna Bromee paints an affectionate portrait of Lena Nyman, reflecting on her life & career.
From the six-year-old at Lidnersplan 11 in Stockholm who was sent to theatre school to overcome her shyness – to the much-loved actress, hailed as a genius and surrounded by scandal, who was equally at home in light-hearted comedy and the most profound drama.
When Lena Nyman realised she did not have long left to live, she donated diaries, letters and photographs to Statens Teaterbibliotek.
As if wishing, in some way, to live on. Her own words and reflections run like a thread through “Ett bloss för Lena Nyman” – with humour, darkness and honest clarity.
Running time: 1 hour 10 minutes
WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY:
Anna Bromee.
The play is based on the writings Lena Nyman left behind.
It is also enriched with extracts from Jonas Gardell’s “Helvetet är minnet utan makt att förändra” – with his generous permission. And from “Omaka par”, approved by Neil Simon (Nordiska Strakosch).
