Vesterinen Yhtyeineen
Vesterinen Yhtyeineen are known for their captivating live performances, charismatic frontman Tero Vesterinen and the rich, organic sound of their ten-piece ensemble.
The band’s music moves freely between sweeping Western landscapes in the spirit of Ennio Morricone and Slavic melancholy blended with Nordic influences. Over a career spanning nearly 20 years, Vesterinen Yhtyeineen have sold hundreds of thousands of tickets and now perform almost exclusively at large arenas in their native Finland.
In spring 2026, Vesterinen Yhtyeineen released their ninth album, Liian hiljaista. The record celebrates the interplay between the members of the large ensemble, while offering a counterbalance to increasingly mainstream, producer-led digital music. The album stays true to the band’s central themes: community and love.
– Over the years, Sweden has given us fantastic artists who have sung in their native language and still made a lasting impression on us. Now it’s time to try it the other way round: can a Finnish-language band spark interest beyond Finland’s borders too? the band says.
Swedish music has also had a major influence on the band’s sound. Their debut album is called Jönköping, and their catalogue includes songs such as Wallander and Arlandan portailla.
