Darkness meets darkness as The Coffinshakers bring their gothic mix of country and rock’n’roll to the stage, while Kristoffer Grip returns with new solo material rooted in a Southern Gothic atmosphere and the legacy of post-punk.
The Coffinshakers
Founded by singer and guitarist Rob Coffinshaker in 1995, The Coffinshakers combine the simplicity and roots of country and rock’n’roll with the darkness and melancholy of gothic horror. The result is straightforward three-chord songs delivered with a rarely heard sense of presence.
Their sound spans a broad spectrum, from slow ballads to fast, intense outbursts, always with the same assurance and power. No, they are not vampires, but the music of these four black-clad figures may well cast an even darker curse upon your mortal soul…
Kristoffer Grip
A key voice on the European wave and underground scene in the 2000s and 2010s: as Swedish singer and artist Kristoffer Grip now returns as a solo artist – with two singles in 2025 and an album in 2026 – he does so with a darkly romantic style rooted in Southern Gothic folklore and a distinctly rock’n’roll heart. This is music that reflects our times, where themes of life, dreams and fear coexist with a persistent search for hope, however wild it may be. The songs are written by Grip and co-produced with Henrik Sunbring (oplen, Agent Side Grinder, Domus) and Emanuel Lundgren (I’m from Barcelona, Loney Dear). Arrangements by Lundgren and mixing by Sunbring.
Born in Stockholm in 1984, Grip now lives and works in the forests of southern Sweden. Between 2005 and 2017, he was the singer and lyricist in the electronic post-punk band Agent Side Grinder, alongside Peter Fristedt, Johan Lange, Henrik Sunbring and Thobias Eidevald, among others. The band became known for their intense live performances and a sound influenced by synth, post-punk and proto-punk acts such as Throbbing Gristle and Suicide, with whom they also shared the stage. In 2017, Grip left the band to focus on other projects, including his visual art practice in painting and enamel, with a focus on storytelling, symbolism and mythology.
