Teater Brunnsgatan Fyra, Stockholm
Nattorienterarna
Vera and Bricken, as our heroines are called, cannot hear what they themselves are singing. They are not strangers, but nor are they friends. Perhaps they are rivals in love?
It is hard to say when reality has taken on a new linguistic guise and all the mothers have entered their second childhood. Darkness falls. Are we alone here?
Nattorienterarna is not a play about sport. Nor is it a documentary account in the conventional sense. But I have certainly benefited from my experience as a typing teacher. Neither Bricken nor Vera works at Byängsskolan any more. Gillis Ignell and Rune Nylander have retired, and I dare not speculate about what Stickan Ogebratt gets up to in the boiler room these days. I want the drama to continue when the play is over. And I want the word "escapism" to mean not fleeing from reality, but letting reality take flight. – Kristina Lugn
