With four specials and audiences totalling over 150,000 worldwide under his belt, John Achkar comes to Sweden with his most personal show yet. In the new show, he tackles identity, family, faith and the social and political contradictions that have shaped him – with sharpness, self-awareness and well-observed humour.

John Achkar is a Lebanese comedian, television personality and storyteller whose stand-up moves between the personal and the societal. His humour is quick, honest and often uncomfortably precise, making him one of the most interesting names in Arabic stand-up today.

This is a show that aims both to entertain and to challenge a little. Funny, outspoken and rooted in real life, it revolves around the values we inherit, the systems we get stuck in and who we become when we start to examine it all a little more closely.

In October, John Achkar comes to Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm with a show offering both relatable moments and plenty of laughter.

Please note: The performance includes difficult themes that some audience members may find distressing. Come with an open heart and an open mind.
