Last year, not many people knew who Valter Nilsson was, but slowly and surely Stockholm audiences got to experience him, from Mosebacke in August, via Jungfrukällan in September, to Fasching in November. Now, with his quickly sold-out shows at Trädgården this summer, he is close to becoming a national favourite.

His debut album ‘Bland de gyllene och de allmänt brända’, released in spring 2025, marked the start of a meteoric rise and led to a Grammis nomination and sold-out shows. In November 2025, GP wrote the provocative line “sell your children for a ticket”, which sums up what Valter Nilsson and the band Stigberget deliver live. It is easier to draw parallels with Bruce Springsteen than with anyone from Sweden.

His latest album, “Högsbo Riviera”, arrived this spring and has since been followed by a host of interviews, television appearances and spectacular concerts. Among them, a show at Bananpiren that sold out in no time, in front of 12,000 people, sums up this artist’s unique journey.

On 4 December, he returns to Stockholm and Fållan to round off the biggest year of his life so far.

“This year has surpassed everything I could have dreamed of. Getting to meet audiences around the country, becoming a dad and being nominated for a Grammis feels completely unreal. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who is part of this journey,” says Valter.
