Vid utkanten av Köping hittas den forntida konungagraven Ströbohög. Gravhögen, som är likvärdig med gravhögarna i Uppsala, anses vara en av de mest förnäma inom länet. Det har vid utgrävningar hittats ett bronsspänne, glaspärlor och fragment av lerkärl från tidig Järnålder som tyder på att en konung har begravts här. I området finns även flertalet mindre gravhögar och -fält.
