Doktor Glas – en monolog med Jens Hultén
DOKTOR GLAS - en monolog med Jens Hultén “Nothing diminishes and drags a person down so much as the knowledge that they are not loved.”
Hjalmar Söderberg’s classic novel Doktor Glas still raises unsettling questions. What is right and wrong? When do good intentions become acts of abuse? And how far may a person go in the name of love and morality?
In this evocative one-man performance, Jens Hultén takes us into the inner world of Doktor Glas – a man caught between passion, conscience and guilt. Through Hultén’s own adaptation of Söderberg’s text, the timeless story becomes an intense and deeply affecting monologue, in which the boundary between thought and action blurs.
Under Johan Hedenberg’s direction, a psychological drama unfolds – charged with quiet humour, an unsettling presence and existential darkness, while Eddie Hultén’s specially composed music adds a further dimension to the drama.
A performance that stays with you long after the lights have gone out.
