Thema Balkanica

Join us for a musical stroll through the western Balkans and south-eastern Europe. A stroll that turns into a jog as the music heats up with playful spirit and musical elegance.

The trio Thema Balkanica mainly performs sevdalinka, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s distinctive musical genre, inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, but there will also be plenty of wonderful odd-metre rhythms from North Macedonia, southern Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary.

Here we meet once again the musicians behind the well-received concert “Sevdalinka in Scandinavia” at Södra teatern in Stockholm.
