Flamencamiento Global

FlamencoFredag and Mötesplats Mariatorget present a full evening where flamenco meets jazz, Latin American rhythms and world music.

Flamencamiento Global Trio perform original music by guitarist and composer Yannick Corre. Together with Cuban double bassist Gastón Joya and Venezuelan percussionist Julio Alcocer, he creates a warm, organic sound drawing on jazz, Latin jazz, Cuban trova and traditional Latin American rhythms.

The music is characterised by improvisation, responsiveness and close interplay between three world-class musicians. The name Flamencamiento Global alludes to the expression “global warming” and describes a constantly evolving flamenco format – open to new forms of expression and cultural encounters.

After the concert, the evening continues with a tablao set of traditional flamenco featuring house band Tres de Corazones.
