God Mother Stockholm’s foremost purveyors of sonic devastation, God Mother, have officially announced their third full-length album, Köttvärld, released on 25 September. Following the chaotic mental landscapes of their previous EP Sinneseld, Köttvärld bursts forcefully into the “flesh world”. The album offers a visceral exploration of identity, purpose and the dissolution of the self in an increasingly digital world – a world that steers the attention of Stone Age humans to advance AI agendas and exploit the many for the benefit of the few. Köttvärld stands in opposition to the view of humans as mere resources, instead reclaiming the self by embracing the raw power of a being driven by emotion, senses and nerves. Musically, the album broadens its expression to a wider spectrum of sounds without sacrificing God Mother’s characteristically abrasive, high-intensity approach. Listeners can expect a deeper dive into grindcore, punk, sludge and death metal.

Svart samtid The opposite of Neuropeltika is spelt Svart samtid. Sweden’s only pro-psychotic sonic onslaught band mixes fast d-beat and too much distortion with grinding riffs and a generally invasive atmosphere.

Yes, it’s gruelling. Yes, it’s worth it.

Stockholm’s only documentary filmmaker, Fredrik Kullman, has described them as “one of Stockholm’s hottest bands right now” and “powerfully controlled chaos”. A hot mess, in short. Their debut LP Ingen Vinner from Studio Smutsrock is coming sometime this winter.

Denim Demons

The year is 2025. At a beer-soaked birthday party, a group of Stockholm musicians take to the stage – the birthday girl is to be serenaded, but she wants one thing: Turbonegro. She gets it.

It was a resounding success, and Denim Demons was formed with one goal: to pay tribute to the golden era of the world’s best deathpunk band.

November 2026 also marks five years since singer Hank von Helvete departed this life. Denim Demons will pay tribute to him and his band by playing all the best songs from Apocalypse Dudes, Scandinavian Leather and Party Animals. Denim, the devil, death cult. Into the haze.
