Öppen ölprovning: IPA & APA

IPA is IPA. Or is it? On Friday 9 October at 18:00, we invite you to an open beer tasting where we explore one of the beer world’s best-known – and most varied – styles.

Over the course of the evening, we’ll taste six different IPAs and APAs in a range of styles and explain why two beers both called IPA can taste completely different. What sets a classic West Coast apart from a modern, hazy and fruity IPA? Where does the bitterness come from? What role does malt play, and how can different hop varieties offer everything from citrus and tropical fruit to resin, herbs and spice?

We won’t stop at what’s in the glasses. We’ll smell and taste the raw ingredients and talk about how they influence the finished beer. It will be a relaxed tasting with plenty of room for questions, discussion and, hopefully, a few new discoveries.

And the setting could hardly be better. We’ll be down in Akkurat’s legendary beer cellar, surrounded by one of Sweden’s most talked-about beer collections.
