Top Dogs – Delbert McClinton Tribute

TOP DOGS - tribute to Delbert McClinton Top Dogs formed in 2010 as a trio, but soon expanded to a quartet. They honed their live chops and built something of a reputation over a couple of years as the house band at Nalen Bar in Stockholm.

Their repertoire featured blues and a generous dose of southern soul. Alongside gigs in their own right, they also began working as a backing band for touring American artists.

To date, Top Dogs have collaborated with over twenty fantastic artists in Europe and are currently performing their hit production “American Ladies in the House”, featuring Annika Chambers, Lady A, Terrie Odabi, Dawn Tyler Watson, Shakira SÌada and Thornetta Davis.

One artist we have never had the chance to work with, but whose songs we have always played, is Delbert McClinton. A singer, musician and songwriter from Texas, drawing on blues, country, soul, rock’n’roll and Americana, he is also a favourite of our singer, Sverker Blomberg.

In 2026, we thought we’d do… whatever the hell we want, and we settled on a tribute show featuring Delbert’s songs. We promise a show with songs rooted in and around the blues tradition, with lyrics like little short stories, and… a hell of a lot of energy from the first note to the last.

We are Sverker Blomberg, vocals and guitar, Erik Möbeln Pettersson, keyboards and backing vocals, Thomas Lingman and Patrik Norrman, bass, with guest Bosse Gustavsson on saxophone and backing vocals.
