Debaser Nova, Stockholm
Juldagsdeppen: Missiles + Principe Valiente
As usual, Juldagsdeppen is back again this year! We’re opening the doors to Debaser Nova, where two live acts and carefully selected DJs will take us through the evening.
Juldagsdeppen is our annual festive-season refuge – a meeting place for our scene and our audience, where we can celebrate the holiday together in our very own way. Here, we swap traditional Christmas music for something considerably darker, putting melancholy, basslines and a sense of community centre stage. So come and embrace the darkness, leave the Christmas stress behind and be gloomy with us. A very warm welcome!
The evening starts at 18:30 with a screening of the documentary “Rozz Williams: Romeo’s Distress” by director Nico B from Cult Epics. It offers an intimate insight into the controversial artist, poet and musician Rozz Williams, founder of the band Christian Death, who died at just 34, leaving behind a legacy that a new generation will now discover for the first time.
Live on stage:
MISSILES – With their genre-crossing music, MISSILES reflect like sonar across the broad reaches of post-punk, with equal parts finesse and Gothic darkness. Their first full-length album, ”WEAPONIZE TOMORROW”, was released in 2024, and since then, apart from a number of gigs around the country, they have been working on an upcoming album out of the public eye. Listeners and critics have likened their music to that of bands such as Killing Joke, The Sisters of Mercy and The Gun Club, as well as Swedish greats such as Imperiet and Cortex.
PRINCIPE VALIENTE – “In This Light” is the title of Principe Valiente’s latest full-length album and marks a bold development in the band’s musical journey of more than ten years. The ten carefully crafted songs reveal the characteristic ethereal soundscape and dark, ambient allure that first brought them onto the alternative music scene in 2011, with the release of their self-titled debut album. Let yourself be swept up in a symphony of mellotrons, samplers and analogue synthesisers, interacting with the celestial sound of Jimmy Ottosson’s Rickenbacker 12-string guitar and Gretsch guitars. The musical landscape is further enriched by melodic piano and a distinctive, distorted, driving bass – all enveloped by the enigmatic vocals of singer Fernando Honorato.
