Katarina Kyrka, Stockholm
Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem
Katarina Oratoriekör performs Johannes Brahms’s "Ein Deutsches Requiem", one of the most moving and magnificent works in classical choral music.
In contrast to a requiem based on the texts of the Catholic Mass, Brahms chose to address the living, speaking to human grief, longing and the need for comfort.
With texts drawn from the Lutheran Bible, darkness and light meet in music that holds both the deepest seriousness and warm reassurance.
The work is performed in the so-called London version, accompanied by piano four hands and timpani.
Katarina Oratoriekör conducted by Linnéa Underdal Lundgren.
Baritone: Carl Ackerfeldt.
Soprano: Karin Mobacke.
Piano: Oscar Ekberg, Folke Alin.
UNRESERVED SEATING, doors open at 15.30.
