Newkid – Akust-ish

Newkid is taking “Akust-ish” on tour this spring After years on big stages, with pyrotechnics and productions designed to feel larger than life itself, Newkid is doing something new: he’s coming closer.

On 25–26 September, he will perform two sold-out “Akust-ish” concerts at Södra Teatern – two evenings where the songs, stories and feeling took centre stage. Now he’s taking the concept further, and this spring he’s setting off on a tour around the country.

– “The setup isn’t entirely acoustic, but ish,” Newkid says of the format.

And perhaps that’s exactly where the essence lies. A pared-back stage style without losing the energy or grandeur of the music – a space where the songs can breathe in a new way, and where the audience can get closer both to the music and to the person behind it.

With more than 15 years of music behind him, Newkid is now inviting audiences to a more personal encounter. From early hip-hop and R&B influences to the big pop songs that have been streamed more than half a billion times – the music takes on a new form: intimate, vulnerable and honest.

He is also currently promoting the EP Powerballader, released earlier this spring, where he continues to explore big feelings, strong melodies and stories about love, doubt and finding your way home.

Tickets for the “Akust-ish” tour go on sale on 25 September at 11.00 via allthingslive.se.
