Arkipelag

See Sweden’s Oscar entry at Södra Sthlm Filmfest! Tense drama meets dark humour as Alex Schulman makes his directorial debut with Arkipelag, in which Gustaf Skarsgård, Fares Fares and Linus Wahlgren play three fathers who accompany their daughters on a school trip to hell.

Stranded with a rowdy lower-secondary school class on an idyllic island in the archipelago, they are reminded of their own teenage traumas. Like the young people, they soon have to realise how difficult it is to draw the line between play and a dangerous power struggle, and to distinguish victims from perpetrators.
