Taiko för barn – Prova på japanskt trumspel!
Would you like to experience the powerful sound and energy of Japanese Taiko drumming? In Japanese festival culture, Taiko is something everyone can take part in – children and adults, beginners and experienced players.
No musical experience is needed, and beginners are very welcome! This workshop is adapted for children, but there is no strict age limit. Children need to be able to follow simple instructions in English and take part in a group (e.g. play, stop, wait and take turns). Please note that the workshop is in English.
Taiko is about much more than just hitting a drum. It is about bringing together rhythm, body, mind and the people around us.
During this two-hour workshop, children will explore the basics of Japanese Taiko through movement, rhythm and group activities. Taiko engages the whole body, and we learn how to use our bodies naturally to create powerful, energetic sounds.
But Taiko is also something we do together. We listen to one another, communicate through rhythm and discover how our individual sounds can become part of something bigger. By playing together, children can naturally develop teamwork skills, coordination and connections with others.
And of course – Taiko is powerful, energetic and fun! Creating a really big sound can be a fantastic way to express yourself, build confidence and dare to take up a little more space.
