Join Alice and Viktor on an adventure of discovery in Gamla stan. They have lots of questions as you make your way along streets and narrow alleys with strange names. During the walk, you’ll learn about ghosts and pirates, the world’s largest coin and what life in the city was like in the past.

Start: Mälartorget, Gamla stan

Finish: Lilla Nygatan 5, Gamla stan

Distance: Approx. 2 km (hilly, stairs, cobblestones)

Time: 90–120 min (you choose the pace)

This activity is aimed at children aged 10–15 and their curious parents and other adults.

Price: 🔸 Children up to 15 years old go free when accompanied by their parents or other adults 🔸 Parents: 295 kr per mobile phone (two people can easily share one phone) A representative will be there to help you log in using a QR code or your own mobile phone. Show your ticket at the starting point. You can also pay on site.

How it works:

Children are wiser than many adults think, so the questions and texts must not be too easy or too difficult. The idea is for you to help each other read aloud and answer the questions together, unless you’d rather compete against one another. In that case, everyone in the family logs in on their own mobile phone and answers the questions individually.

You’ll get your result after the final question, so take a screenshot of it while you can, and compare your results afterwards to crown a winner.

Talking with your children will be important, and you’ll probably discover that they’re wiser than you think. Some words may need explaining, which is also an important part of the activity. This is an excellent opportunity to practise reading aloud and learn history in a more enjoyable way than at school. The children will also learn how to navigate using maps. Pretty good, isn’t it!

All you need is a fully charged mobile phone and an open mind.
